These ‘Sharps’ needles are made from high quality hardened steel and nickel plated for a super smooth finish. They are packed in a reusable plastic sticking holder to keep them all aligned and placed in a kraft brown envelope wallet (100 x 65mm). There are either 16 or 20 needles per pack.

Sharps Needles are used for general hand sewing; designed with a sharp point and a round, slightly elongated eye. They are of general medium length for this class of needle.

The general convention for sizing of needles is within any given class of needle the length and thickness of a needle increases as the size number decreases. For example, a size 9 needle will be thicker and longer than a size 12 needle. However, the needle sizes are not standardized and so a size 10 of one class may be (and in some cases actually is) either thinner or finer than a size 12 of another type. I think manufacturers do this just to confuse us… so a reminder is that, if you have a size relating to a needle diameter and length in one class of needle – don’t expect it to be the same in another class of needle!
